Frequently Asked Questions

Are 1500mm baths suitable for daily use?

Absolutely. A 1500 mm bath strikes the perfect balance between space-saving design and everyday comfort. At 1.5 m long, it comfortably accommodates most adults, providing enough legroom for a relaxing soak without overwhelming smaller bathrooms. Its standard size makes filling time and water usage efficient, helping to keep running costs and environmental impact low. Whether you’re winding down after work or working from home, a 1500 mm bath can seamlessly integrate into your daily routine.

Which materials are best for heat retention?

When it comes to keeping your bathwater warm, the material is crucial:

  • Cast iron retains heat the longest, thanks to its high thermal mass. Once

warmed, it stays hotter for far longer than alternatives.
  • Acrylic tubs offer good heat retention at a lower price point, with the

added benefit of being lightweight and easy to install.
  • Stone resin combines the luxury look of natural stone with excellent

insulation properties. Though more expensive, it delivers superior

    warmth and durability.

Can they be installed freestanding?

Yes, many of our 1500 mm baths are designed for freestanding installation.

What is the empty and filled weight—and do I need floor reinforcement?

Weights vary by material: acrylic baths run 25–35 kg empty (180 – 200 kg when filled), whereas cast stone models can be 60 kg+ empty (250 – 300 kg filled). If you’re over a timber floor, have a structural surveyor or installer confirm joist load capacity.

Which waste and overflow options are compatible?

Most 1500 mm baths accept standard 40 mm pop-up or click-clack wastes and wall-mounted remote overflows. Be sure to choose the matching waste kit (and sealant) recommended by the bath manufacturer.
